Healthy nutrition during pregnancy promotes maternal and child health. Research shows that the importance of a nutritious diet affects the growth and development of a child both during pregnancy and later in life. Optimal nutrition and food that should be avoided during pregnancy will be discussed.

A number of important issues will be discussed, but emphasis will be placed on:

  • General nutrition
  • Common myths
  • Desires for certain food items during pregnancy
  • Advice on: Heartburn, bloating and constipation
  • food poisoning
  • Healthy lifestyle
  • Interesting food recipes
